Stallions were chosen for conformation, performance, pedigree and quality of their existing
offspring. We have not been disappointed! Photos of stallions below.
Feuertanzer
Both Anglo-Trakehners foaled at BDF are by the Trakehner stallion Feuertanzer (Martini). Feuertanzer
was an obvious choice due to his incredible scores when presented to ATA for breeding license, although an injury prevented
Feuertanzer from finishing his performance requirements. His wonderful nature, ease of trainability and topline
are amazing and we knew he'd cross well with a TB. The goal (if we got fillies, which we did!) was to breed them
back to Connemaras for outstanding WB/Connemara crosses. Success!
*Gunsmoke
The first Connemara stallion we used for our half-bred breeding program was *Gunsmoke. An outstanding
sire and competitor, *Gunsmoke was shown in eventing and unfortunately ended up back in Ireland! He did provide us with
Black Dog's Fiona (out of Lexy), who is an excellent example of the TB/Conn cross. Black Dog's Fiona (formerly Black
Dog's Smokin' Kate) won her 4 year old USEA test in Texas in May 2008. She received 8's on her gaits. When he
was exported, we turned to his stallion son, WH Top Gun.
WH Topgun
Approved Connemara stallion son of *Gunsmoke, Topgun has been used in our breeding program for both purebred
(bred to Loughin's Leighseach) and halfbred foals (bred to Fiorella). All of these offspring are exceptional
(Mia, Connor, Dylan and Annie) and we will continue to use Topgun in our breeding program! WH Topgun is currently competing
in eventing at Training, looking to move up to Prelim fall of 2014. Another foal (out of Ella) is expected in the spring
of 2015.
Artrageous
A TB stallion who has competed lightly at USEA events (novice) but through preliminary at schooling shows, we
bred Ocoee to Art in 2011 to see what kind of half-bred baby Ocoee would produce. Art is a wonderfully uphill TB stallion
with excellent conformation and temperment. He moves like a WB and has been a wonderful sire of half-bred connemaras
for us. We are expecting a half-bred by Art in 2015 out of Loughin's Leighseach.
Seven Hill's Grey Ghost
An approved ACPS stallion, Mosby has sired many proven performers for Donna Duckworth and other ACPS breeders.
Mosby produced an excellent colt (now gelding), Toby, when bred to Swift Ocoee River. Their first son, Nicholas Mosse,
is a young stallion in Arizona. Mosby is now gelded.
